When I was a kid playing golf on a huge course with my family, a baby rainbow lorikeet fell from a giant tree. It was so tall, the bird couldn’t fly back up to it’s mamas nest and we waited for it to be rescued, to no avail. Taking it to the nearest vet, they gave us permission to keep Sammy, who lived 15-20 years before unfortunately ending up snake food in our backyard. I think about Sammy a lot & wanted to honour her here. She was as beautiful as she was fiesty.
